The BlueprintRN → CDICrossover 💎
You didn't spend all those years learning bodies to spend the rest of them breaking yours.
The path off the floor and into Clinical Documentation Integrity. Remote work. Real income. Your clinical judgment finally used for something that doesn't cost you your back.
◆ ◆ ◆
The real reason nurses
don't make the jump
It isn't desire. It's that nobody hands you a map.
You know how to read a patient. What you've never been taught is how a chart becomes coded data, what a documentation gap looks like, and how to write a query a physician will actually answer.
That's not a small gap. It's the entire skill set CDI departments hire for, and it's the reason strong nurses get passed over for candidates who look worse on paper.
◆ ◆ ◆
Two phases, in the order
the field actually works
PHASE ONE
Get Into the CDI Seat
What the work really is. The inpatient coding logic every CDI department expects you to already know. How to spot a documentation gap the way a specialist does. How to write a query that holds up. And how to get hired into the role that starts your clock.
PHASE TWO
Prepare for the CCDS
Eligibility, the application, and full length practice built against the real exam structure. You get it today, and it doesn't expire while you go build your experience.
◆ ◆ ◆
The thing most candidates
get wrong
Most nurses apply to CDI roles clinically strong and hoping somebody will teach them the coding side.
Nobody will.
CDI departments orient you to their software and then expect you to already understand principal diagnosis, secondary diagnosis criteria, present on admission, and how a DRG gets built. There's no onboarding class for that.
Clinical judgment plus coding knowledge is the combination that gets hired. Most applicants bring one. You're going to bring both.
Who this is for
- RNs at the bedside who want out, and want a real map instead of a pep talk
- Nurses in case management, quality, or utilization review who keep brushing up against documentation work and want in
- Clinicians already sitting in a CDI seat who need to pass the CCDS
- Anyone tired of being told to just get the certification by people who never showed them how
Who this is not for
- Anyone looking for a shortcut. This is real work and I'm not going to pretend otherwise
- Anyone who wants to be told what they want to hear

Behind the Blueprint
RN → CDI CROSSOVER
I'm Coach Tash.
Twenty five plus years in inpatient medical coding. AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Trainer for over a decade. Senior level consultant in inpatient medical coding, auditing, and CDI across 33 states. Taught on three continents.
I held the CCDS credential for eight years.
And I was a former Region A RAC auditor, which is the part that matters most for you. In that role I validated and invalidated clinical diagnoses on real claims, sitting alongside physicians who taught me the thresholds behind every determination.
So you're not just getting curriculum. You're getting the CDI eye and the auditor's eye underneath it.
I went into my own CCDS exam without that. You won't have to.

Questions nurses
ask me
Do I need CDI experience before I start?
How long do I have access?
I've never coded. Can I still do this?
What kind of exam practice is included?
Is CDI really remote work?
