Tasha Jones — known as Coach Tash — is a nationally recognized Inpatient Medical Coding Expert, Consultant, Educator, and Mentor with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle industry.
"At 25, I was a single mother of three on food stamps with a GED and no medical background. Inpatient medical coding didn't just give me a career — it gave me the world."
Coach Tash has coded and audited in Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers, consulted in 33 out of 50 states, traveled to Manila, Philippines to train international coding teams, and served as a Region A RAC auditor for the federal government. She has worked across inpatient coding, auditing, compliance, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), and education throughout her career.
She holds the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential, is an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer, and has held the Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential. Her career spans acute care hospital systems of every size — from community hospitals to major health systems — giving her a depth of real-world expertise that no textbook can replicate.
